George Shashoua, M.D.

George Shashoua, M.D. earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Texas. He attended Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He completed his residency at the University of Florida Health Science Center at Jacksonville. Dr. Shashoua is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

From 1996 to 2010, Dr. Shashoua practiced obstetrics and gynecology at Oakwood Women’s Centre in Round Rock, Texas. His practice involved general obstetric and gynecologic care. Over time, he specialized in the treatment of urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse. Beginning in 2007, he began incorporating the daVinci robot into his surgical practice. Between 2007 and 2009, he developed expertise in the daVinci sacrocolpopexy procedure, which is improving the minimally-invasive mesh-augmented surgical treatment of prolapse. Prior to joining Oakwood Women’s Centre, Dr. Shashoua served on the Ob/Gyn faculty at Brackenridge Hospital’s Clinical Teaching Program.
