About Dr. Shashoua
Abraham R. Shashoua, M.D.

Dr. Abrraham Shashoua is Director of Minimally Invasive and Robotic Gynecologic Surgery at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center. He is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is an Assistant Professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Illinois.
Dr. Shashoua specializes in minimally invasive procedures and advanced laparoscopy for the management of chronic pelvic pain, pelvic organ prolapse, incontinence, uterine fibroids, endometriosis, and heavy menstrual bleeding.
Dr. Shashoua was the first gynecologist in Chicago to perform robotic surgery in 2005. He teaches robotic surgery locally, regionally and nationally. He performed the first Single Incision Laparoscopic Hysterectomy in Chicagoland in 2008. He is a specialist in advanced laparoscopy for pelvic pain and endometriosis.
Dr. Shashoua is originally from Chicago, attended the University of Miami School of Medicine and completed residency at the University of Chicago in 1996. He is an assistant professor at the University of Illinois.
George Shashoua, M. D.
George Shashoua, M.D. earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Texas. He attended Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He completed his residency at the University of Florida Health Science Center at Jacksonville in 1995. Dr. Shashoua is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Beginning in 2007, he began incorporating the daVinci robot into his surgical practice. Dr. Shashoua teaches robotic surgery locally in Austin, Texas, and nationally across the United States. Dr. Shashoua specializes in minimally invasive procedures and advanced laparoscopy for the management of chronic pelvic pain, pelvic organ prolapse, incontinence, uterine fibroids, endometriosis, and heavy menstrual bleeding.
